On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court made the historic decision to legalize same-sex marriage in all 50 states. We live in Massachusetts, the first state to legalize it, so my sister’s marriage was never a problem for her. However, now their marriage is legal in all 50 states (which is important as they often travel to visit her wife’s son). More importantly, thousands of couples who could not marry, now can. This has made me very very happy, and I wanted to do a photo shoot to show my support.
I ordered a custom t-shirt for Inara from My Little Loves Designs, and brought her to a local park to take some photos. I’m so happy with how they came out, and so happy for our country!
I couldn’t resist doing a cake smash photo shoot. I waited until the next day since she’d had enough sugar already on her birthday! It was good practice and silly fun. She didn’t want to get messy! Silly girl. 🙂

Although I am a photographer myself, I know I still have a long way to go in terms of ability. For Inara’s first birthday, I wanted to get some professional photos taken of her. This photographer also ran a Mother’s Day contest and I won a photo shoot of Inara, my mother-in-law, and myself, so we did that the same day. Unfortunately Inara was a bit worn out by the time we did the photo shoot of the three of us, but the photos are a wonderful memory either way.

My darling girl is 11 months old. We’re planning her first birthday party. She crawls, stands, and cruises. She’s days away from walking. Her two bottom teeth are fully in. She still nurses, and also eats a wide variety of solid foods. I can’t believe she’s almost a toddler! Every day is more fun than the last. I love my goofy, happy girl.
I love fairies, and bought a fairy costume for her ages ago. The weather is finally nice and warm, so I dressed her up and brought her out to the back yard for some photo fun. 🙂
Fall is my favorite season. I was born in the fall. I got married in the fall and had a fall-themed wedding. I knew I had to take some AMAZING fall photos of Inara. I got this tutu on Zulily before she was even born. I’ve been DYING to use it. That day has arrived!
My husband and I are HUGE Harry Potter fans. We’ve been to the park. We own the movies, special edition movies, paperback books, hardcover books, AND e-books. Our cats are named Harry and Ginny. We’re slightly obsessed. 😉 I saw this onesie on Etsy and nearly died. Harry Potter AND personalized? Sold! I chose Hufflepuff because that’s what the mister and I are. She can choose her own house when she’s older. 😉

Two blog posts in three days! Who AM I? 😉 She’s been asleep in her swing for around an hour, so I don’t expect to get much more time before she wakes up. I might have to finish this later.
After my post the other day, I thought it only fair that I wax poetic about my love for my daughter. She is amazing and unique and I love her to the moon and back. Here are some adorable facts about her:
1. She giggles as she’s falling asleep. This isn’t the best instance of it (she’s full-out chortled before), but this is the only one I’ve caught on video. It happens at the 16-second mark.
2. Her left ear is a little curled, almost elvish looking. Or Vulcan. She has sort of done “Live Long and Prosper.”
3. She makes the most HILARIOUS faces. So hilarious I have to caption them!
4. She LOVES to be naked. I try to let her have a little naked time each day.
5. She can sit up like a champ already!
6. She LOVES the water. Co-bathing is so much fun!
7. Just look at her in this rainbow tutu. She totally puts up with mama’s shenanigans.
8. Awesome neck control. And CHEEKS for miles!
9. She’s a maniac on the floor. 😀
10. And last but not least, she’s totally daddy’s girl.
Okay, and mama’s too. 😉
